What is a certification of documents
A certified copy is a
copy (often a photocopy) of a document, certified to be a true copy by a
person authorised by legislation to do so, for example "notary" or "public
notary"
As part of "know your customer" banking regulations most financial
institutions now require a certified copy of a passport when new
accounts are opened. This would normally entail a copy of the pages
containing one's name, photograph, passport number and date of birth.
You should note that all certified copies must contain the following
statement: "I certify that this copy is a true copy of the original
document"
